    Patient access to GP practices has been a long standing concern for residents in Hounslow for a number of years. Issues like long waiting times on the telephone to book appointments, long waits to get an appointment, quality of telephone and online consultations, and problems around the 8am rush, have been persistent challenges.
    In collaboration with ICS and Hounslow Primary Care team we identified questions and developed the survey for enhanced patient access.
    We visited GP practice waiting areas over an 8-week period (August/September 2023) to talk to patients and complete surveys. Healthwatch volunteers played a vital role in this outreach work.

    The project aims to provide affordable physical activities and sports for young people, particularly those aged 10-16 years and 12-24 years with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), who live in Hounslow and face barriers accessing these activities.

    Atfield House in Isleworth provides a range of accommodation and services for older people in need of support, from respite care to 24-hour residential care to intermediate care.
    On 30th October 2023, the visit was conducted by a team of Healthwatch Hounslow Authorised Representatives.

    Reliant Care, Whitton Road, provides supported housing and rehabilitation services for vulnerable adults who have mental illness, are trying to recover from substance abuse or alcohol misuse and who have learning disabilities.

    Healthwatch conducted focus group discussions with local residents to understand their perspectives and experiences of falls prevention services in the borough.

    Our representatives carried out table discussions with the attendees in small numbers and had prolonged conversations about falls prevention.

    Questions were asked across several different categories:
    •Awareness of the Falls Prevention services.
    •Review of the Promotional Materials-leaflet/Frequency of Promotional materials/Sources/Accessibility.
    •Self-Referral-Barriers, Motivators.
    •Experience-Lived Experience, Any Concerns, Perception.
    •Support/Collaboration/Suggestions- What has worked well/what could be improved/role of health professionals.
