The latest Care Quality Commission (CQC) report, The state of health care and adult social care in England 2025/26, paints a mixed picture of health and care services. There are some encouraging signs of improvement in areas such as GP access, digital services and elective care waiting lists. Yet improvements are not keeping pace with the increasing needs of the population.

This week the Department of Health & Social Care informed Healthwatch Hounslow that the Health Bill clauses relating to the abolition of local Healthwatch and Healthwatch England are to be withdrawn.
