Speaking up for better care: Healthwatch Hounslow Annual Report 2025-26

Key achievements

• Our report on Attendance of Babies and Children (aged 0-4) to West Middlesex University Hospital A&E Survey Report​, resulted in a working group that increased appoints, extended hours and increased the provision GP’s offer to 11 years. Work with this working group is ongoing and continues to inform their strategy. 
• We worked in partnership with Healthwatch Richmond in an enter and view identifying areas for improvement at West Middlesex Hospital. Most patients found the experience with the hospital positive, but identified issues with communication and response times. 
• We conducted a piece of work as part of a Winter Wellness Campaign, to support residents in staying well, improving awareness of winter health services, and increasing confidence in vaccination uptake across Hounslow. This piece of worked helped to increase the reach of Healthwatch Hounslow’s offer and build stronger relationships with partners and stakeholders across the VCSE. 
• We listened to residents in Hounslow’s Extra Care Housing Schemes, This project gave commissioners and providers a better understanding of residents' experiences of Extra Care Housing, helping to inform improvements to services such as activities, dining, and tailored support. Feedback from 36 residents has shaped recommendations to strengthen independence and enhance the quality of care across Hounslow's Extra Care schemes.
