From talking to people about their experiences of health and social care, and helping us with reports, to supporting us at events and on community stalls - volunteers are vital to our work. Whether you have a few hours to spare or are looking for a regular commitment, we've got a volunteering role to suit you.

Research and Engagement Volunteers 

We are committed to bringing about postive change to health and social care services that reflects the needs of the people in Hounslow. In order to do that, we carry out in-depth research projects that look at the key concerns and issues that residents have told us. We are looking for volunteers that have experience in carrying out research using different research methods and assisting with the writing of engaging reports.

  • Help us to carry out field work.
  • Assist in carrying out face to face surveys and questionnaire surveys.
  • Assist in interviewing local people about their views and experiences of using health and social care services.
  • Support us in report writing.
  • Assist with running stalls in the community promoting Healthwatch Hounslow and helping us to find out what the issues are locally.

Useful skills and experience for this role:

  • Experience of carrying out surveys and questionnaires.
  • Some experience of working with a focus group to gather people’s views.
  • Some experience of quantitative and qualitative research.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to empathise and understand.
  • Open minded.
  • Local knowledge and experience of working with disadvantaged communities.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.

Patient Experience Volunteer

Do you like listening to people's stories, collecting and gathering information through surveys and interviews? Are you passionate about capturing the voices of local people to help improve halth and care services? If so, this role could be for you.

  • Act as the eyes and ears of Healthwatch and keep us informed about people’s views and experiences of health and social care services in Hounslow.
  • Provide Healthwatch Hounslow with information raised from patients and service users about their experiences of using health and social care services in Hounslow.
  • Help us to carry out field work.
  • Assist in carrying out face to face surveys and questionnaire surveys.
  • Assist in interviewing local people about their views and experiences of using health and social care services.

Useful skills and experience for this role:

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
