About this event
To mark LGBTQ+ History Month, Hounslow Council is hosting a free event run in partnership with local charity West London Queer Project and this year’s theme will focus on science and innovation.
Join an interactive session of keynote speakers, panel discussions, and a special performance by the ArtsEd Choir, all to mark LGBT+ History Month in Hounslow. A light lunch will be provided.
Guest speakers will include EJ-Francis Caris-Hammer from the University of Essex who will highlight the impact Covid had on LGBTQ+ communities and representatives from Sexual Health Hounslow will highlight the innovation in HIV care and how the LGBTQ+ community have pioneered support for people living with HIV.
Two years ago, Hounslow Council launched a “Fairer More Equal” strategy to tackle systemic inequalities in the borough. The Council has forged close partnerships with a range of community groups to help achieve this goal.
Along with guest speakers, representatives from the NHS, West London Queer Project and Community Safety Teams at the Council will be on hand to offer advice on a number of Council services.
